Kindness to even the smallest of creatures, can make a massive impact on nature and all who inhabit it.
The HART Rehab, which is under the watchful eye of a very experienced Eleonore Pretorius, since 2015, offers injured and traumatized animals a hopeful habitation. Here, Eleonore and her passionate and experienced staff, serve these animals day and night, to ensure their well-being.
From injured owls, orphaned black footed cats, neglected horses and vervet monkeys, HART becomes a home that offers them a hopeful recovery. Even our colleague and snake expert Steve “venom man” Meighan, gives problem snakes a home or a means to home.
Oscar, the Asian Black Bear was a very special guest at HART. Found in a very small enclosure, HART recovered Oscar and offered him a new home with a larger enclosure. With generous assistance from The Bear Trust SA, Oscar is now living in a large enclosure with wild hares and spend his days cooling off in his very own swimming pool.
Not only do Tara staff attend to and release these traumatized animals of HART, but also spread awareness and educate the community about the importance of sustaining and caring for our precious wildlife.
Special school tours are conducted by Eleonore, educating our young future generation about the rehab program of HART. She shares her passion with them and teaches the importance of caring deeply for our wildlife.
Her message to them is pure and simple:
Kindness to even the smallest of creatures can make a massive impact on nature and all who inhabit it.
